Who We Are
We're Josh and Rachael Lucas — a husband-and-wife wedding filmmaking team based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the two people behind every Lucas Studios film.
It started with wanderlust. We were always making travel videos together, chasing light and moments wherever we went — until a friend asked us to film her wedding. Something clicked. We realized we could take everything we loved about telling a story on camera and give it to couples on the most important day of their lives. Several years and many weddings later, that's still exactly what we do.
We film every wedding together — two cameras, two perspectives, never missing a moment. As a married couple ourselves, and parents of two, we know a wedding day from the inside: how fast it moves, and how much you'll wish you could live it again. Our approach is calm and unobtrusive — we blend into the day so it unfolds naturally, and most of our couples end up feeling less like they hired a videographer and more like they had a friend behind the camera.
Because in the end, that's what we're really making: a time machine. A film that lets you step back into your wedding day — every glance, every giggle, every tender touch — and relive it, exactly as it felt, forever.
