Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding videographer cost in Raleigh?

Our wedding videography packages range from $1,741 (The Vows) to $5,715 (The Dream), with options for a range of budgets across Raleigh and the Triangle.

What's the difference between your wedding videography packages?

The Vows captures your full ceremony with 2 hours of coverage. The Events adds all speeches and all dances (4 hours). The Dream includes everything in The Events plus a 6–12 minute cinematic highlight film (7 hours of coverage).

What is a cinematic wedding highlight film?

It's a 6–12 minute edited retelling of your wedding day — set to music and weaving together your vows, key moments, and emotion. It's the signature deliverable in our Dream package.

How many hours of coverage do we need?

It depends on your package: The Vows includes 2 hours focused on the ceremony, The Events 4 hours covering the main events, and The Dream 7 hours — from morning preparations through the celebration.

How far in advance should I book a wedding videographer?

We recommend booking about 6–9 months ahead to secure your date, though popular dates can go sooner. A $300 deposit reserves your wedding date.

How do we book, and what deposit is required?

A $300 deposit secures your wedding date, with the balance due before the day. We always start with a no-obligation video call to make sure we’re the right fit for your wedding.

Do you meet with couples before booking?

Yes — we begin with a no-obligation video call to learn about your day, answer your questions, and make sure we’re the right team for you. We reply to every inquiry within 24 hours.

What happens after we inquire? (Our process)

It’s simple: you reach out through our contact form, we set up a video call to make sure we’re a fit, a $300 deposit books your date, we both film your wedding day start to finish, and your finished films arrive in a private online gallery about 90 days later.

How long until we get our wedding video?

Most couples receive their finished wedding film about 90 days after the wedding. Every film is hand-edited by Josh and Rachael, and we keep you updated through delivery.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes — we’re based in Raleigh and film weddings across all of North Carolina. There’s no travel fee within about an hour of the Triangle; for weddings beyond that, a modest travel fee applies. We’re always happy to quote your venue.

What venues have you filmed weddings at in North Carolina?

We film all across North Carolina — from the Triangle to the coast and the foothills. Venues we’ve filmed at include Walnut Hill, Sacred Heart Church, and Mordecai Park in Raleigh, The Upchurch in Cary, The Cotton Room in Durham, The Rigmore House in Chapel Hill, The Oaks at Salem in Apex, The Paisley Barn in Benson, The Farm at 42 in Selma, May-Lew Farm in Farmville, Ray Family Farm in Louisburg, The Farm on Cotton in Sanford, The Shiloh in Lowgap, Copper Ridge in New Bern, and Haven on the Banks in Nags Head — plus Lake Gaston, Kinsleeshop Farm, and more.

Do you film elopements and smaller weddings?

Absolutely — we film weddings of every size across North Carolina, from intimate elopements and micro-weddings to full-day celebrations.

Do you offer drone footage?

Yes — every Lucas Studios NC package includes aerial drone footage whenever conditions allow (weather, venue, and airspace permitting).

Do you provide the raw footage?

Yes — raw, unedited footage is included, so you’ll always have the complete record of your day alongside your edited films.

How do we receive our wedding films?

Your finished films are delivered through a private online gallery, where you can stream, download, and share them with family and friends.

Can we choose the music in our wedding film?

Yes — couples are welcome to request songs, and we’ll use them wherever licensing allows. Every film is set to properly licensed music.

Are you insured, and do you bring a second shooter?

Yes. We’re fully insured — glad to provide a certificate of insurance for your venue — and because we’re a husband-and-wife team, Josh and Rachael both film every wedding. That means two shooters and built-in backup on every wedding day.

Do you also offer wedding photography?

We’re a video-only studio — cinematic wedding films are all we do, which lets us focus entirely on capturing your day in motion. We’re glad to work alongside your photographer.

What is your filming style?

Our approach is unobtrusive and candid — we blend into your day and let it unfold naturally, then guide a few romantic portraits and golden-hour shots after the ceremony for a cinematic, emotional finish.
